Inspired by both natural landscapes and architecture, Catherine’s work is a fusion of organic and geometric design. Her striking contemporary sculpture is based upon principles of balance and scale, and is designed to play on the observer’s visual perception. The small holes created within the pieces act as focal points, framing the landscape on the other side and playing with proportion and perspective. In the same way that sunlight filters through trees, light is captured through the holes and intriguing shadows are cast. Intended as interactive pieces, the observer is encouraged to give in to their curiosity and explore them, as one might explore their own environment.
